Never Grow Old
By Tucker Jameson

Looking out upon the crystal lake
watching as the mountains shake
for the rights to the sky.
Clouds like waves of yesterday
coming down to rain on me
the poems of my mind.
Streaks of marmalade
painted on the sky for days
rivers of blue reflected in my eyes.
Walkin’ down this tired street
I pick up a maple leaf
on my way to make believe tonight.

We may lose our minds
grow gray and tired
wrinkled by time
but I know
we’ll never grow old
we’ll never grow old.

The Mona Lisa doesn’t smile anymore
Miss Liberty cries herself to sleep
I see my shadow cast upon that wooden floor
but it fades away with my memory.

Now I’ve felt like every color of the rainbow
and I’ve searched the deepest darkest holes of my soul
I’ll be the first to tell you sometimes you gotta cry
One thing you should know baby is
our hearts they’ll never die….

Never, never, never, no
Never, never grow old
Never, never, never, no
Never, never grow old.
Never grow old.
