Roses 'Cross the Sky
By Tucker Jameson

I think I want to lie in bed
with nothing but a blanket over my head
under the covers dreaming of lovers
I think I want to dance
in and out of consciousness
been away so long singing the same old song.

And I still long to be
in my sweet home right by the sea
and sail a dozen roses ‘cross the sky
And I still long to share
the moments when we learn to care
and hold you close while the petals fall to sea.

Your candy-eyed display
through black and white it stays with me
and your smile so bright
burns away the night
And ‘though I’m on the road
living my dream or so I’m told
your picture don’t satisfy
my lost and longing eyes.

A dozen roses fly away
I kiss your lips in ecstasy
you press your hips up against me
Our bodies swaying through the night
I hold on to you oh so tight
Wake up to the same old sight
it was just a dream.
